The only thing better than an album that's a hit these days is an album that's a viral hit -- perhaps that's why the xx are mapping the spread of their second album around the world.
Coexist, which comes out today, was first uploaded to the band's site on 3 September for fans to stream. The members of the band only gave the link to that site to one of their fans, but since then every new share on social media has appeared as a new beam of light connecting the source to the recipient. It's a cute way to demonstrate both how universal their fanbase is and how sometimes the hubs of content sharing aren't exactly what you might expect (hello, all the xx fans in Kansas City).
