The Wikipad gaming tablet, unveiled at the beginning of the year at CES, is finally set to go on sale in the US.?

GameStop will be selling the device, which runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, from October 31 for $499. Pre-orders can be made now which will include some full-length games for no additional cost.

The gaming tablet features a 10.1-inch IPS screen, quad-core processor and expandable memory. An attachable controller which the tablet slides into gives the Wikipad a more traditional gaming console experience.

A host of gaming platforms have already backed the WikiPad project with the likes of PlayStation Mobile, Nvidia Tegra Zone and Google Play all making a suite of titles available from launch.?

Sony recently announced that it had licensed the Wikipad as a PlayStation Certified Device meaning customers who shell out on the device will be able to play classic titles such as Crash Bandicoot.?

Initially the Wikipad will be available only from GameStop’s retail stores and website and there’s no word on whether it will be rolled out further afield.
