Google Keep note-taking service inbound

Google is to launch its own note-taking service called Google Keep. Posted online and then promptly pulled, Google Keep is essentially a fully featured note-taking application, with archiving and list making.

Sadly, Google took it down just as quickly as it appeared, so what do we know?

Google Keep lets you make colour-coded lists, complete with pictures and save them to read later. It has the usual checkbox approach, so you can tick off anything on the list you might have already done.

Notes are searchable and can appear both in list form or as thumbnails, so you can glance through them quickly. A mobile app is also planned and Keep has its own special mobile site.

The whole set-up is very bare bones and designed clearly for one simple task: taking notes. It isn't clear yet whether it can sync with Google Drive, although we imagine it can. We will post more on Google Keep the moment the service goes live again.
