Landline telephones. If there's a more arrogant piece of antiquated office technology, I am yet to discover it and it annoys me that they're even still around.
It's a device that screams for immediate attention. It demands we drop everything in order to address its whims. It requiresus to answer it, to spend physical effort bringing it closer to our faces, distracting us from other tasks in the process. If we ignore it, it petulantly sits there like a grumpy gnome.
