To take on Canon 650D
Nikon is preparing to release details of its long-awaited D5200 DSLR camera in the next couple of days, or so rumours suggest. There are even murmurings that the announcement could come as soon as midnight tonight in the US (between 5am and 8am UK time).
In addition, a number of key specifications have been "leaked", including that it will feature a?24-megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor, the?EXPEED 3 processor - as found in the D3200 - and the?2,016-pixel RGB metering sensor found in the D600.
ISO range is rumoured to be?100-6400, expandable up to 25600, while the screen on the rear will be a 3-inch, 921k dots, vari-angle LCD display. Continuous shooting speed will be ramped up to 5fps.
Photography site Nikonrumors suggests that the announcement could be delayed until 7 November though, so curb that excitement a little while longer. Either way, it seems we'll be seeing Nikon's rival to the Canon EOS D650 soon.
Pocket-lint will bring you all the official news as it breaks.
