Crabs fitted with GPS tracking devices have provided ecologists with detailed information on their long-term migration behaviours.
Fifty-five male giant robber crabs were fitted with custom made GPS tags and left to roam their natural habitat on Christmas Island, giving researchers at the Max Planck Institute of Chemical Ecology with more than 1,500 days of crab data.
