Coffee to go
Coffee addicts up and down the country can now pay for their vanilla decaf skinny latte, with double whipped cream by simply having a barcode on their Android smart phone scanned by the cashier.
The app is now available to download from the Google Play store in both the UK and Canada having already been tried and tested in the US. Rather than using NFC to make a payment, users preload their app with credit from a credit card or PayPal account.
Once the barista has swiped the barcode the correct amount will be deducted from your balance. Regular Starbuckers can also use the app to redeem and track their rewards vouchers, find the nearest Starbucks to their current location and view their entire transaction history.
The Starbucks app is available to download for free from Google Play for the Android platform, while the app is also already available on iOS from the App Store.
