First week of February
A handful of Surface RT users found a bug after installing the latest update to their tablet. The update created some quirkiness in the Windows Update department, including the inability to load or search for updates and the inability to update third-party applications.
While a fix is not available yet for the bug that's been around since early January, Microsoft has confirmed the issue in a statement to The Next Web.?
Additionally, the folks in Redmond said that they're working on an update and expect the issue to be corrected during the first week of February.
"Some Windows RT customers who attempted to apply January’s bulletins had issues installing updates. Specifically, impacted Windows RT devices went into connected standby mode during the download of updates from Windows Update, causing the connection to be disrupted," said Microsoft in a statement to The Next Web. "We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and are working to correct the issue; we expect to have a fix in place in the first week of?February."
Microsoft hasn't detailed the extent of the issue or the root cause. However, affected users will be happy to have an update sooner than later.
