Cloned Austrian village opens in China

Hallstat

An exact copy of the picturesque village of Hallstatt in Austria has opened to visitors in the Chinese province of Guangdong.

The clone, which cost £600 million to build and occupies about a million square metres, is a perfect replica of the Unesco World Heritage site, located on the shores of the Hallstätter See. The church clock tower and wooden houses are recreated identically, and will be for sale to investors in the site.
